The journey through the Hatun Valley is a perfect tour for those who wish to enjoy and explore the wonderful places of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and wish to continue to Machu Picchu, as this tour ends in Ollantaytambo, where you take the train to Aguas Calientes. You can also spend the night in Ollantaytambo, a very cozy and perfect place.

Places to Visit

  • Tipon Hydraulic Center (GREAT IRRIGATION WORKS).
  • It was probably used as an agricultural product laboratory due to the various microclimates found in this complex. It contains enclosures, an intact irrigation ditch, and terraces.
  • Pikillacta "Wari Walled City".
  • It was one of the most important administrative centers of the pre-Inca Wari civilization, between the 6th and 9th centuries, and represents planned urbanism par excellence.
  • Traditional Market and Archaeological Center of Pisac.
  • It is an archaeological complex, located 30 kilometers from the city of Cusco, shaped like a puna partridge. Property of Inca Pachacutec, composed of terraces, domestic and ceremonial structures, and aqueducts that provided water for agricultural exploitation.
  • Living City of Ollantaytambo.
  • Ollantaytambo is one of the most impressive fortresses of the Tahuantinsuyo, intended for military and religious life. It was built by Pachacutec as a perfect defense. The archaeological site comprises a series of superimposed terraces, showing impressive large finely carved stone blocks located on the upper terrace, such as the Temple of the Sun.

  • 1st Activity: Start of the Tour.
  • The Hatun Valley tour begins with hotel pickup to head south to visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing through the emblematic city of Cusco. Along the way, beautiful and fertile inter-Andean valley landscapes can be observed.
  • 2nd Activity: Visit to Tipon and Pikillacta.
  • Our visit begins at the Tipon hydraulic center, also known as the Water Temple. Before heading to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we visit Pikillacta "The Wari Walled City."
  • 3rd Activity: Tour to Pisac.
  • Then we head to Pisac where we will have our delicious lunch and then get in touch with the producers in their traditional market to appreciate the beautiful handicrafts, the art of goldsmithing and jewelry. Next, we visit the archaeological center of Pisac, which local residents call Inti Huantana.
  • 4th Activity: End of the Tour.
  • After our visit, we head to the living city or the stone city of Ollantaytambo.
